Our Ormskirk project included repointing, new leadwork, felt and battens around the chimney and a new lead back gutter. It is a useful example of dealing with the chimney and its roof junction together.
Rebuilding or altering an existing chimney
Some jobs involve more than repointing. At Denebank Road in West Derby, we replaced the roof and altered one side of a chimney at the party wall, rebuilding and retoothing the brickwork. The retained chimney was supported on one side. That was the scope of this particular project; your own chimney needs its own assessment.
Larger chimney removals
The Ruff Lane chimney removal in Ormskirk involved a 16-foot chimney and more than 1,500 bricks. Its removal had been requested by a structural engineer as part of renovations. The work also involved framing alterations and reconstruction of the roof valley.

Can the chimney work be included with a replacement roof?
Yes. Tell us about both when requesting a quotation so we can discuss the overall scope.
Will the quotation show VAT and payment terms?
Yes. We are VAT registered. Most projects have a 30% booking deposit and 70% payment on completion; larger jobs may have agreed stages linked to completed work. We accept credit cards but do not offer finance.
Will you explain the guarantee for my project?
Yes. Our roof replacements have a minimum 10-year guarantee, with the scope and terms in the project documents. For other work, ask for the applicable terms in your quotation. Insurance-backed guarantees are not currently available.
