This roof valley renewal in Halewood replaced the old valley detail with a new lead lining. Our photographs show the same tiled roof before the work and after the valley had been renewed.
The valley before renewal
The original valley had weathered edges, accumulated debris and vegetation along the channel. The close-up below shows the condition at the junction between the two roof slopes.
A renewed lead valley
We opened up the valley, removed the old detail and fitted the replacement lead lining. The adjoining roof covering was reinstated around the renewed channel.
A valley carries water from the roof slopes on either side. The finished photograph shows the new lead running down this junction and the tile edges alongside it.
A repair suited to this roof
This project was a valley renewal, with the existing roof covering retained around it. When we assess a roof, we consider whether a localised repair is appropriate or whether its wider condition calls for replacement. The scope should follow what the roof needs.
